- Worsted Yarn (red, green, and white)
- 4.5mm hook
- Stitch markers
- Intended mug to try cozy on as you work
Note: Color changes are given to achieve the look of the cozy in picture. To change how your cozy comes out you can change colors and amount of rows each color is used for. Happy crocheting and merry Christmas!
Base (worked in continuous rounds, move marker as you go)
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in first ch (6sc)
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around (12sc)
Round 3: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next stitch. repeat around (18sc)
Round 4: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 2. repeat around (24sc)
Round 5: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 3. repeat around (30sc)
Round 6: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 4. repeat around (36sc)
Round 7: *2sc in next st, 1sc in next 5. Repeat around (42sc)
Rows 1-3 worked in the round.
Rows 1-3: Ch 2 and turn. Hdc across. Ss to first hdc. (42)
Rows 4-12 worked back and forth. Do not ss to first hdc at the end of each row.
Rows 4-11: Ch 2 and turn. Hdc across (42)
Row 12: Ch 2 and turn. Hdc across. Ch 20. Finish off. Join yarn to first stitch of row 20 on opposite side and ch 20. Finish off.
Weave in all ends.
For the stripes: Green (4 rows) to white, white (2 rows) to red, red (4 rows) to white (2 rows). You will end in white.
